girl smilingThe Foodbank identifies a school with a high incidence of need for free or reduced-price school meals, then staff at that school identify chronically hungry students.

Then The FoodBank provides a backpack filled with two breakfast meals and two lunch/dinner meals for those students to take home Friday afternoon.

Each pack contains a two day supply of food, in kid friendly containers, and includes: shelf stable milk and cereal, tuna, beef stew, mac and cheese or chicken poptops, 100% fruit juice, granola bars and fruit cups.

On Monday morning, the child returns the empty backpack to school to be filled with food and taken home again on Friday afternoon.
