Getting Started CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You’ve decided to help fight hunger with your Lemons Aid Hunger stand. Lexie STEP 1 THE PREFECT LEMONADE You can make your own lemonade or buy a mix from your local supermarket. Just click here for refreshing lemonade recipes. Remember, there are many ways to make good lemonade. Most recipes use water, sugar, and lemons. You can experiment to get the perfect taste. You can even offer sugar-free lemonade. Either way, we’re sure your lemonade will be just fine!!! STEP 2 LEMON COOKIES If you’re feeling really enthusiastic, click here for some delicious STEP 3 YOU’RE THE BOSS How much help will you need? This is very important. You will need family and friends to help you run your stand. You’re the boss, so only you can decide how much help you will need. But remember, you always need an adult to supervise. STEP 4 LOCATION, location, location. You want to make it as easy as possible for your customers to buy your lemonade. You probably want to set your lemonade stand in your front yard. If your house faces a busy highway, people might not be able to stop easily or safely. It may be better to find a different location. Ask your parents where they think a good and safe location would be. STEP 5 YOUR FOODBANK LEMONADE STAND A sturdy card table can serve as your stand. You can even use a board on two boxes. Whichever way you decide to make your stand, decorate it with a tablecloth or colorful paper. STEP 6 SPREAD THE WORD!! Now that you’ve got your stand and lemonade, it’s time to advertise your business so people will know you have a great product at a great price for a great cause. If you live in an area where lots of people walk by, a single Lemons Aid Hunger Stand poster may be all you need. But, if you’re out of the way, you need to work hard to tell people all about your stand. You could do as the people do for garage sales: Put up some FoodBank colorful signs in the neighborhood pointing customers to your stand. Finally, we come to pricing. Remember if you charge too much, you might lose customers. Charge too little, and you won’t make money. You need to charge enough to cover the cost of the ingredients and still make a little money. Talk to your parents about what they think would be a good price. |
