Food and Fund Drives
Food and Fund Drives You can help kids who are hungry by running a food drive. When you run a food drive, you collect cans of food from friends, family members or people in your neighborhood, and then donate them to the FoodBank. The FoodBank then gives the food to pantries and soup kitchens, who give it to hungry kids and their families. How do you run a food drive? 1) First, decide who you want to ask to bring in cans of food – perhaps your class at school, or your friends from a club, members of your family, or just people in your neighborhood. 2) Then decide, what foods you want to collect. Click here for a list of most needed items. 3) Next, decide what day you want them to bring in the food, and where they should bring it. For example, your classmates can bring food on Friday and put it into a big box, which your parents can help you put in the car and bring to the FoodBank. 4) Register your food drive. You can call Lorie at the FoodBank to let her know that you are doing a food drive at (732) 918-2600 ext. 241 or Download and complete our Food Drive form and mail it to the FoodBank. Register your Food & Fund Drive, and we’ll put it on our NEWS & EVENTS calendar. Click your date and your event will show on the calendar. 5) Now you can hand out flyers of most needed foods to the people you want to ask for food for your food drive. You can also post the flyers at your school, club or neighborhood. Check out our posters and flyers!!
