At the FoodBank of Momouth & Ocean County, our mission is simple: "to acquire and distribute food so that none shall go hungry in Monmouth or Ocean County." Accomplishing that mission, however, is far from easy. It requires the strong support of financial contributors, corporate and individual food donors, volunteers, and others. With the help of people like you, we're able to distribute almost 11,000 pounds of food each day to the disadvantaged in our two counties.
The need is very great: last year, we provided close to 4 million pounds of food and grocery products to local people in need, 36% of whom were children living in poverty. Those little ones, for whom healthy food is critical to growth and learning, desperately need the regular, healthy food we provide through our BackPack Pals program and our warehouse. We also provide millions of pounds of food to the frail elderly and disabled, families in crisis, and others.
